  I took a laughing gull to them on a Sunday afternoon when they were closed, and they immediately took him inside. Several weeks later, I was on the island with my baby goat, and we stopped to see how it turned out with the bird (his name was Seth). They checked for me and reported that he survived and was released. Very nice people.
